Marvelous Hair Adventure-July Edition

I could not believe it was time for a haircut already. It feels like I just got my hair cut, but I was having a hard time working with it. Ok then....hair 101.....a sign of a good hair cut is when it grows out well. I really did like my last haircut. It was just fine. But my "like" toward my hair started to dwindle as it started to grow out...it grew out all funky like. Now, that may not be the cuts fault... it just might be my hairs fault....I'm not going to pass blame on either. No.....I'm just going to move on.

Which means.....my fingers started moving in the direction of a new phone number for a new salon. I was able to get a quick appointment....that may or may not have been a good sign. I was so out of it this week....from a nice visit from Aunt Flo. ...oh,that visit wears.me.out. Anyway, I made the appointment and threw caution to the wind. I seem to do that a lot with hair appointments.

I ran into some obstacles along the way....literal obstacles. Roads were closed and there was a giant detour. Not a fun obstacle when you are traveling to a new town and searching for a shop you have never seen before. All worked out well, so I'm not even sure why I shared about the obstacle. I guess I'm painting a picture...sharing the details of my adventure. I finally found the shop and was seated in my chair right away. The stylist was very nice...the salon was hopping (both good things) She decided not to wash my hair. Interesting. That was actually a first....but I'm not even going to analyze it. I actually said...."do whatever you think"! Remember, I was in a hormone fog.

There was lots of chopping....some razoring(not a fan of that) and some more chopping. At the end of the cut, I had that butterfly feeling in my stomach and I was afraid to look in the mirror(as usual). I finally looked....was not overly thrilled, but thought "no biggie, I'll fix what I don't like". After a quick re-style.....because she had used the curling iron on me(that always scares me).....I was happy with the results. Not that much different than last month, though a bit shorter. Hopefully, the cut will grow on me (pun intended). July mission accomplished....total cost.....$22.

I'm smiling for you Erica!!

HA HA HA - YOU SMILED FOR MEEEEE!

I love it!

Now Mimi, you look at both pictures. One with a smile and one without. Now don't tell me that you don't see how much greater the smiling photo is!

Yes, I know when I smile, I have more wrinkles, but I KNOW that smiles with wrinkles just show that you've smiled a lot in your life and you have had lots to be happy about!

So you keep on smiling and I'm glad you smiled - even if only for me.

See, I'm growin' on ya! (Kinda like a fungus, huh?)

{hugs}

Erica

Love the haircut....
I'm a bit jealous because I'm suppose to get my hair braided for the summer but the lady told me the front was too weak from constantly pulling it back! (Tear)...so I just went to another lady...
oh...sorry...this is your blog...not mine...

Your haircut is adorable...and yes...we like to see you smile...thanks Erica...keep her smiling.

Stunning as always.

I appreciate a girl who appreciates a good hair cut! And is willing to go through great lengths to get one!

And thank you, I need to call my hair guru today! Must have a cut before I leave on vacation in 9 short days!

I am jealous of your hair and your ridiculously cheap salon prices. You'd think Raleigh was L.A.

News flash.

It's not.

Beautiful - although the words "razor" and "cut" give me the heebie jeebies because I am currently growing my hair out from a bad razor cut LAST SEPTEMBER.

I always enjoy your monthly hair cut posts. I feel the "adventure"--probably because I am not adventurous with my hair at all.
I like the new 'do. It does remind me of last month's, but I really liked that one too.
Hope this one "grows on you."

Hey beautiful! LOVE the hairstyle! I'm thinking (today) that I actually want to grow the top of my hair out longer like yours and leave the back short...I'm sure I'll change my mind a milion times, but hey...that's our perogative right??? :)

Your hair looks amazing. Chic, shiny and pretty. Mine on the other hand is a giant ball of curls which will just get curlier and curlier all summer as the heat and humidity increases!!! I wish I could have a cut like that!!

First off, you have already read about my hair adventure so I hope to not share anymore in the near future.

Secondly, you are very brave when it comes to your hair. I would never hop from person to person but looks like you've had good luck the last two times.

Thirdly, I like the smiles too and love the new do!

Hi! I enjoyed your post. I laughed because it reminded me of the anxiety I go through when I got into a salon with the mission to get a nice haircut. My prob is I never know what I really want lol. I think I drive the girl crazy trying to figurine me out I go from, "I just want a one inch trim to I want a new look, I want a change, a new me" lol...at the end thoughwe always make it happen. They do so well, they must have alot of anxious girls in there lol. Last time I went in was no different..didn't really know what I want but as soon as I spotted the other hairdresser's haircut I said, "that's what I want, I want that one..can you make it happen?" lol and that's what I got:D I really liked the results. Ahhh good thing I only go through once every 3 months or so....

You look beautiful..I really like your new cut...I would prob be afraid of going that short but you have the face for it!

Too cute!

We have something in common. I just got my hair chopped too. And now that I think about it, the lady didn't wash my hair either. Hmmm...wonder why? :)

It is always nerve wracking when you get your hair cut by somebody new. Fortunately my friend cuts my hair so I haven't had that experience in awhile.

I like your haircut it's cute!

And I have no idea what I'm doing in some of my pictures, lol! In one my head was lowered and I was looking straight up!

I procrastinate too, btw!

Okay, I like the prices you are paying! And I like how your hair has looked after the last three cuts. [Good grief... I sound a bit stalker like!] It sounds like you have a few good places now to choose from. Can you tell me where you went? Email me both names, if you would. Thanks! ☺

lol

The continuing hair saga. Do you like the back? I agree, if it grows out well then it's a truly good cut. I went the day after I saw you to get mine trimmed up.

I always look to the side too...everyone has a better side...and I'm always hoping the camera will capture mine. :)

You look GREAT!
