This very moment....if you came to my house today......
If you came to my house today......as you drove down our long, stone driveway....you just might still find the frost melting from the cold morning. We've been hoping for snow....yes we have.....each morning we have looked outside to find everything white and sparkly. This has started our day with a smile.....we love winter in our house.
As you walked into our kitchen......you would probably find the breakfast bowls still on the table. I would hope that you could appreciate the difference between.....a mess and a work in progress. I like to view our messes as works in progress.
You would notice some cranberries simmering on the stove.....for some reason, I decided to make some homemade cranberry sauce this morning. We love cranberries around here.....to me, they scream November. In fact, later today we are planning on reading the book Cranberry Thanksgiving.
You would notice books everywhere......I have a tendency to "strew" books throughout the house. You never know when you might just want to settle down with a good book.....I like to have them easily available and within reach.
If you happened to look into our first floor bedroom......you would notice sheets ready to be washed and piles of clean clothes ready to be put away. There are always piles of clean clothes ready to be put away. For some reason, having to walk those piles upstairs tires me out. They WILL be put away today.
As we walked upstairs to say hi to the boys.....you would notice more piles stacked on the stairs. Lately, because of our construction project....there are always piles stacked on the stairs waiting to be put....somewhere.
I would show you more "work in progress" and excitedly tell you of all our plans...
You might find the boys playing in their playroom.....usually you will find Ross holding his favorite brown bat.
If you came to my house today......I'd offer you some coffee and probably some chocolate...cranberry sauce, too......and ask you to forgive the way I look.....because I probably would still be in my pajamas.

Looks like my house with the exception of the cranberries simmering on the stove. Although I don't care for cranberries all that much they look really good!!
Hope you are all well!
Love you :)
I would TOTALLY come to your house day! From sparkly morning to boys without shirts in snowy-like weather, to cranberries on the stove....its my kinds of day.
I'll wear my PJ's too....
Thanks for playing!
Oh Mimi this is why I adore you so!! Your life is so blessed and beautiful...and happy :)
We have dishes on the table still too. That cranberry sauce looks delicious..if only I could stop by and have some! Glad to hear of another who loves the snow/winter. I think it is so magical and beautiful, I never tire of it, well maybe by March I do :)
xx
have a wonderful weekend

I love the BOOKS everywhere! But then I would love to live in the library.
We have books everywhere too! I wouldn't even dare show pictures of my daughter's room! No matter How much I clean, it just stays messy!
I love little peeks into people's houses and everyday lives. The piles and "works in progress" are just evidence of a lived in home.
And I love Lived In.
oh girl, this makes me love you even more!
Definitely lots of love in your house and I would LOVE to come by and stay awhile...one day, it'll happen!
Cause coffee and books and sweet boys and great friends are a wonderful combination...
ps--got your email, sitting down to reply after lunch
What a fun carnival!! I feel like I was actually there. I've never seen anybody actually make real cranberry sauce. And, I thought I heard of snow in your area?!?! I remember wondering if y'all got some.
Thanks for inviting us in!
How absoultely cool is that...cool I say! What a fun tour of your Friday morning!
We love winter too...something about the first snowfall...can't wait.
I do the same thing with my stairs...what needs to go up gets stacked on the stairs until I actually have to go up...I mean I wouldn't want exercise or anything like that.
I would love to join you for a cup of coffee...might take me a while to get there. :-)
I'll be on the next flight! And I would join you in the pajama party girlfriend!
OH Praise GOd!!! I'm so glad you have Piles on your stairs too. I always have little piles on the stairs. IT's too far to carry everything up all the time.
I couldn't do one of these posts. I'd be too ashamed of the stuff everywhere right now. I need some TIME!!!
LOVE it. I would love to come to your house anytime. I'd feel right at home.
I'd love to visit!! Even better if it snows while I'm there!
I think moms should have a pj day, too. Don't you think a brunch in our pjs with your cranberry sauce and O Mom's vanilla creamer would be fun?
Your home is lovely. And yes...I think piles of clean laundry are universal.
Aren't that what stairs are for?
Your boys look like so much fun! Oh boy are they going to be lady killers!
Loved visiting your house today!! We LOVE Cranberry Thanksgiving around our house!!
I wanna come over!
Looks like a busy household but fun!

What a great photo shoot!
I feel like I did come over! :)
I'll take a cup of coffee and enjoy your frosty view! I would love nothing more than to get to check for snow with my boys. It never feels like fall or winter in AZ :(
Loving the books here, there and everywhere! We have our piles here, too.
Simmering cranberries! That sounds amazing!!
Oh this was so much fun!
Great post...that's a new meme to me. I love it :D
Loved my visit...
I bet your house smells wonderful, all cranberry.
Piles of clean laundry are good! Wish I could say the same for our bedroom... (blushing!)
I love cranberry sauce, but have NO IDEA how to make it! The laundry and the books..looks just like my house! Thanks for sharing!
I loved "visiting" you! It looks like such a warm, inviting, family place. Thanks for inviting us in!
Thanks for "visiting" me! I wanted to add that after reading your profile, I want to encourage you that though it takes some adjustment, living "out" on some acreage has some great advantages. We live in a development with only 12 houses, each on at least 1 acre, & our grandchildren live next door on nearly 2 acres. We are 10 mi. from the nearest grocery, but the kids can play outside without any worries, laugh & play & sing at the top of their lungs (which they do), & have all kinds of forts/play house/trampoline/trails/etc. This is their first year of homeschooling & I love to hear them at "recess" & after school, usually playing "Little House on the Prairie" or other things where they all play together (boy, 6; girls, 10 1/2 & nearly 9). It is such a blessing! The inconvenience is so worth all the benefits.
oh shoot, that reminds me! i need to use our cranberries! thanks for inviting us over. love the pic of the boys.
Your home is lovely, and your boys are ADORABLE! I enjoyed my visit!
I have a question for you..is a Cranberry Thanksgiving in a series, I think we just read one called a Cranberry Halloween the other night and I thought about you, I had just read your post earlier that day.
just wondering??

I LOVE this post Mimi! You will look back on this years from now and love the 'realness' of it. I am going to steal this from you!
I am coming over right now! I love cranberries brewing! And I love, love, LOVE wearing pajamas all day. When Gary sees me in them, he is like, "Do you even do one thing when you work from home?" and I am like, "I work like an insane mad woman, I just wear pj's" and then he is like, "Well it is hard to believe since the vacume is still sitting in the middle of the living room floor." Whoopsie!
I do work. I work on being the very best blogger ever : )
