And Because I'm feeling So Chatty.....

I realized that I've been blogging almost every day......I'm just a bit chatty. Way too many thoughts going on.....that's a good thing. It's probably because of the season.....and obviously because of the things that are ...going on. I want to be able to look back and read about what we were thinking during this time.....this time of change. I don't want to only write about it once the change has happened. What fun would that be? I want to remember the process as well.  I guess that's why I'm feeling so chatty. I'm sure it has nothing to do with the large amounts of coffee I've been inhaling.

I spoke with my mom today.....she's the mother hen. She's this way with all her children....all 5 of them. Even with my oldest sibling who is 52 year old.  My mother has a very organized way of making sure we are all okay.....checking to see what is going on with each of us. She also makes sure we are aware of each other's happenings. I have to admit.....she keeps us all connected. Anyway.....she asked me " so, is there anything I should know?"  So, of course that was my que to share what the latest with everything was. I forgot what my mom said next, but whatever it was....she made me feel.....calm.  I had some concerns....she turned those concerns to peace.

(my mom is the one in the white dress..cutting the cake-I think it was her sweet 16)

And then we talked recipes.....menus...and where to find the best deals. Good stuff. She's 70+ years old.....at one time in her life, she ran her own successful business....then recreated herself at 70 and started a 2nd career. I'm very thankful for her. And I know very sure that the Lord uses people to minister to us. I'm trying to listen....and I'm trying to be still a bit more.

You are so lucky to have these pictures of your mom but even more lucky just to have HER! My mom is the same way - she is my cheerleader/encourager. She is strong in her faith and reminds me when I'm not.

Your mom was and I'm sure still is a looker. So pretty. I love old photos. I admire your attitude and your willingness to share during this unusual season. I firmly believe during the cold weather months our bodies can handle the extra cup of joe!

Wow what a sweet post to your mom! She looks so beautiful and sounds like she has a heart of gold. Our moms continue to give and give don't they? It's a good lesson for me to remember not to be selfish with my kids.

I can't believe how much you look like your Mom....She is great Mary. It does always seem like she knows just the right thing to say. Seems like the Lord gave Mother's a special gift. You had a great teacher, your boy's will delight in all of your nurturing and wisdom...Love you

My mother and I have never been close--basically I call her about once a month to make sure she's still alive, and she never calls me. You are so blessed.

Gorgeous heart warming post Mimi. You are so blessed to have a mom this amazing and loving. Wow, she looks beautiful at her sweet 16. What really jumped out at me while reading your post is how connected she is to all 5 of her children and how she keeps all of you connected. I always want my sons to be close no matter where they may live one day.
Have a nice day
xoxo

Great pics. I'm glad to know I'm not the only chatty one lately. :) I'm facebooking, twittering and blogging to keep my husband from going nuts. :) Merry Christmas.

Beautiful pictures.

I very much wish I had a mom around. There is a peace only a mother can give and that is always something to be grateful for.

Greetings from England! Your blog is wonderful, I have read loads of it. Someone who likes chocolate as much as I do can't be all bad. My mum died about 4 years ago, at the age of 58. It was my honour and privilege to lead her to the Lord six months before that. I miss her every day. You have to make the most of them, don't you? Drop by some time, you will be very welcome.
