We made the best of our time....playing a ton in the basement to keep ourselves warm.....staying in our pj's all day and eating a lot of chocolate. Actually, that sounds like a typical day for me.
We pulled out the Playdoh....it had been a while since we made some skunks. We decided to make up a story which revolved around our playdoh creations.
We borrowed the tissue box that was originally intended to house our ....not yet made....nativity scene. For today....it would be home to a skunk, a polecat and a zirrilla. I was informed by the boys that they are all relatives. You see, these 3 relatives were coming together for a feast.
A feast of giant white waffles.
And then we got tired of playing with the Playdoh and moved onto some knock~knock jokes......
The boys must have learned these somewhere....a couple they made up .... a few made us laugh so hard. This was one of my favorites........
Sam "Knock, knock"
Me "who's there?"
Sam "Snow"
Me "Snow who?"
Sam " Snow body but me"
Cracked us up.

I hope you kept warm! We had the same stuff, but we didn't lose power, Thank god!
I like Sam's joke!
At least y'all know how to have fun without electricity. Ahhhh the skunks are so cute and a great story to go along with them.
Way to make the best of it!:)
Those are some good looking skunks. I'm glad we don't lose power from snow and ice around here!
sounds like "snow" much fun! well the chocolate, pjs and play dough.......i'm glad you're powered up again!
Sounds pretty close to what our day was like. Kinzie never did make it out of her pj's. I hopped in the shower finally to only have the electricity go back out before I could use the hairdryer. What a day...to spend with the family. Glad you had just as much fun.
We are all about knock knock jokes here, the sillier the better~I'll have to read this one to the kids!
I think I could handle everything but the no coffee part!
cute skunks...you are all such a creative family.
Love how you enjoy spending time together, knock knock jokes and all.
LOL, you're so funny, Mimi..."typical day for me."
I love how your boys always come up with some fun stuff to do. And I know how much we depend on electricity. One night, the entire neighborhood was out, but we had TONS of candles so it looked like we had lights on!
Oh, Mimi...that was me up above (Eli). I just realized his user name was still logged in! Now I have to backtrack on all the comments I just left for people! LOL
Mimi, you are such a GREAT mom!!! Sounds like a fun day. Your boys are so blessed to have a mom like you. We lost power to here in the ole' South. It was very windy and rainy the night before. I got up at 4:00 AM to work, and I got halfway through a job and the lights went out.. . the first thing I thought about? My coffee. It is funny how many things we actually take for granted, huh? Girl, I climbed back in the bed and slept until 7:00 AM. . . it was glorious!!!
I love knock knock jokes.....I'll make sure to tell my grans that one!!!! They'll love it!!!
Those boys are so smart! Keep up the good work!
That sounds like a WONDERFUL morning to me.
And I LOVE the skunks. How cute are they?! Never in my life have a made a playdough skunk. I shall have to get on that right away!
Your boys have the greatest mom...What a fun house. I hope my power goes off tomorrow, but even if it doesn't I'm staying in my jammies all day!! :)
Have a fun weekend
xoxo
